Mise Éire presents - Samhain Sessions
Join us for a full day of craic, ceol agus caint in Castlebar!
Mise Éire is as Gaeilge for “I am Ireland”, meaning we as individuals are woven into the fabric that is our motherland. Under her forests of intertwining trees and beneath her patchwork quilt of rural fields lay the bones of millennia after millennia of our ancestors. In order to truly understand what it means to say “I am Ireland’ we invite you to take a trip with us into our ancient past and revisit who those people were, exploring the Irish folklore and legends that shaped them. In doing so, we can apply what we discover to the horrors we are facing today (ensuring we are not the last of our kind).
Many say Samhain coincides with the pagan festival of Samhain, which marked the end of harvest and the thinning of the veil between worlds, while others say Samhain began as a Christian vigil for All Hallow’s Day (a Christian holiday honouring all saints). Whatever you believe, come and join us for great discussions, stories, traditional music, Irish dancing, late night spooky disco and more.
Speaking Session One: Samhain – Ireland’s Ancient Spirit
Dive into the heart of Samhain and explore the ancient Celtic New Year, with Kevin Flanagan, Tracy Thorndike and Thomas Sheridan. Kevin will unravel the origins of Samhain, exploring its traditions of fancy dress and fairy beliefs, including tales of changelings. Tracy will celebrate the enduring spirit of Samhain within the Irish diaspora, tracing its resilience through famine, emigration, and commercialisation, and its deeper meaning beyond the veil between worlds.
Thomas will delve into ancestor worship, the Irish concept of the Otherworld, and its profound influence on the Irish psyche.
Speaking Session Two: Facing Ireland’s Horrors
Join us for a powerful discussion on pressing issues facing Ireland today: child trafficking and excess deaths. Scotland Yard detective turned whistleblower Jon Wedger will expose the disturbing realities of child trafficking and the connections with elite coverups. Patrick E. Walsh, a pioneering researcher, will share his findings on the alarming rise in excess mortality linked to the Covid vaccination rollout. Caution: These interviews are not for the fainthearted. For those who find this particular subject matter too distressing, there will be plenty of craic agus ceol available all day in the Lounge Bar.
Speaking Session Three: Unmasking the Global Control Grid
Broadcaster, author, and outspoken critic of institutional overreach, Eddie Hobbs, will deliver a hard-hitting presentation on the hidden global agendas shaping Ireland's destiny. Drawing from his incisive analysis in Breaking the Silence on the Return of Totalitarianism, Hobbs exposes the World Economic Forum's (WEF) "stakeholder capitalism," the WHO's pandemic treaty ambitions, and UN-driven policies on migration, climate, and digital currencies that erode national sovereignty. Hobbs warns of a technocratic takeover—likening it to a "meticulously orchestrated strategy" for control, where elites bypass democracy to impose open borders, surveillance states, and economic resets on Ireland and humanity. This session promises unfiltered insights into the dark forces at play and a rallying cry for Ireland's sovereignty.
The event will take place at The Ivy Tower Hotel on November 1st 2025 from 4pm until 12:30am. This event is not fancy dress, however attendees are welcome to come in costume if they wish. This is a family friendly event but children are only permitted to be in the premises until 9pm.
